Elevate Counselling & Therapy
About 15 minutes
Forty-five statements to rate from 1 to 5, then thirty-six pairs where you pick the one more true of you. At the end you'll see a profile of all nine types, the one that fits best, and what to bring to your next session.

Three things to hold as you begin: you are not your personality; the pattern this describes was intelligent, and it kept you safe; and the result is a hypothesis. You're the only person who can confirm it, and nothing is saved anywhere unless you copy it.
Short on time? The ten-minute version asks two questions and shows you nine short portraits.
Rate each from 1 (not at all like me) to 5 (very much like me). Don't overthink it; the first honest number is the right one.
Your results
Each type's score combines the two halves of the test equally: how you rated its statements, and how often you chose it in the pairs. The shape matters more than any single number: a clear peak means one pattern is doing most of the work; two or three close together means the conversation starts there.
Copy this and send it to your counsellor, or bring it with you. It gathers everything from all three tabs.
One caution about the number at the top: it's the type that scored highest on this test today, not a verdict. Treat it the way we do: as the opening hypothesis, which you'll confirm or overturn in conversation.
A different kind of question
Read all nine slowly. Then mark the three that recognise you most, in order. You're listening for the one that makes you slightly uncomfortable because it's accurate, not the one you'd like to be.
This is a different method from the test, and that's the point: agreement between the two is worth more than either alone. The portraits aren't labelled with type numbers until you've chosen, so what you bring to the session is recognition rather than a label.
When you're stuck between two
Being torn between two types is progress, not a problem. It usually means you've already settled the hard part. Pick the two you're stuck between and this page gives you the one question that tends to separate them, and a way to notice which one lands in your body.

Statements are original to Elevate Counselling (2026). The nine-type structure follows the Enneagram tradition as taught by Riso-Hudson and the Narrative Enneagram. This is a self-reflection tool, not a clinical or validated assessment; nothing you enter is stored or sent anywhere.
